Agenda Item-I Water Crises in MENA and Their Impact on Regional Stability

As one of the world’s driest regions, MENA has long faced water challenges. The region’s limited freshwater resources are coming under increasing pressure each year due to rapid population growth, the effects of climate change, and agricultural activities. This has also triggered political and military tensions in the river basins.

Important basins such as the Tigris-Euphrates, Nile, and Jordan directly impact both the internal stability and regional security of the countries in the region. Dam projects, water-sharing disputes, and drought-induced migration are shaping the next generation of crises threatening MENA’s future. Delegates will address these water crises and the basins’ impact on regional stability, and discuss sustainable steps that can be taken collaboratively.

Agenda Item-II Illegal economies in Africa: The exploitation of Muslim societies

Africa, which has been the target of colonial powers for centuries, is the continent with the richest mineral and energy resources in the world. However, this wealth, following colonialism, has meant poverty and civil conflict for Muslim peoples.

The exploitation of these rich resources has also led to humanitarian crises such as child labor and migration.

Delegates will address the OIC’s stance against economic exploitation and the protection of Muslim societies regarding these actions, which damage the reputation of the Islamic world.
